top ten

the joy of networked knowledge.

i’ve been reading my own stats again, just to see where on earth you people come from, and cause i like to procrastinate. i’m particularly fond of the bit where it tells you what people were searching for when they stumbled across your site by accident.

so i decided to have a sort of award ceremony for the best ones. the rule was that they had to be things i hadn’t actually written about, which means that two of my favourite entries were excluded: leyland brothers world, which appeared twice, and john howard’s exploding head (a search i immediately repeated).

here are my top ten search strings for the last six months.

#10 dignity and the tao
#9 the bridge journey codependence
#8 large doormats
#7 english theme injustice
#6 joining the rebels bikey gang
#5 slaters as pets
#4 federico ingrish
#3 hydrophobic bugs
#2 bourgeois pig
#1 hebrew tattoo parlours

i like thinking about the strangers out there looking for these things. the teenager trying to find out how to join a bikey gang. the frustrated retiree looking for a decently sized doormat (damn, this internet thing is useless!). #7 has to be some high school kid writing an essay, probably at the last minute. and can someone tell me if there is a kosher method of getting inked?

i suspect ‘slaters as pets’ is the concerned mother of a young child with a bug obsession wondering if it’s normal. so just in case you find me again: yep, it’s normal.

i think.
